VH-1 Save the Music Foundation Musically Mastered Menu-Atlanta

Last month, I got a phone call from VH1, inviting me to be the Celebrity Chef for the Save The Music Foundation's Musically Mastered Menu-Atlanta!!

The Musically Mastered Menu event series is currently making its way through major cities around the country (New York, Miami, Chicago, Nashville), pairing talented recording artists together with fine dining, in an intimate setting of great music and delicious food.

As the event’s Chef, I partnered with the VH1 team and recording artist, Hailey Knox, to create the menu based on my newest cookbook, Dinner Deja Vu: Southern Tonight, French Tomorrow- as well as 4 signature cocktails and a Southern Cake Parade, (yes! a parade of cakes).

I worked with local event planner, Sean O'Keefe to help me curate the interior decor with Southern charm and a dash of French elegance.

Proceeds from the Atlanta ticket sales went to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s mission of supporting and funding music education for children in schools across the country-and in this case, schools in Atlanta, Dekalb and Rockdale County School music programs!

Alll and all, Musically Mastered Menu-Atlanta was an exciting event and a HUGE success!

Cooking Tips:

#1

Plan your menu around your grocer's weekly sales ad. Your ingredients will be in stock, in season, and on sale!

#2

Shop, Cook & Eat Seasonally. In-season produce is fresh, inexpensive, and tasty!

#3

Cook Once & Eat Twice. Cook a double batch of dishes like soups, beans and chili-for those days you don't feel like cooking!
