I’m excited to share my passion with you for what I call Modern Southern Healthy Cuisine with a French Accent. For me, food is more than just a recipe… it’s a personal experience that I love to enjoy with family and friends.

Spending summers and holidays on my grandparent’s farm in the Mississippi Delta instilled an appreciation of why using the freshest seasonal ingredients really does matter. After attending the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Paris I knew in my heart that Southern and French cooking were two sides of the same culinary coin, they blend perfectly.

Modern Southern Healthy Cuisine with a French Accent builds on my Southern culinary heritage and infuses it with the techniques of classical French cooking to create a cuisine that is healthy, versatile and delicious.

My first cookbook, Field Peas to Foie Gras: Southern Recipes with a French Accent (Pelican Publishing, 2014), explores this new style of cooking. My promise to you, the home cook, is that each and every dish is affordable, easy to prepare and your family will enjoy a delicious and nutritious meal.

My culinary journey has given me the opportunity to extend my passion about food to teaching, writing and participating on Food Network’s popular Cutthroat Kitchen show with host Alton Brown.

I believe that with my rubber spatula, tongs, and my chef knife that I could rule the world and so can you!
