Both of my daughters left for college this fall. Since I wouldn’t be there to cook for them and they would be cooking for themselves for the first time, I gave them each a Cookcentric Cookbook Journal. They picked their favorite covers and as a surprise I wrote a copy of their favorite Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe in the journals before I gave it to them. Now they have not just a book of recipes but a cookbook journal that holds food memories that they can take with them wherever they go and lots of room to add their own.

Although my girls are all grown up, I know of so many kids who love to get in the kitchen and cook. So, I created a kid friendly version of Cookcentric Cookbook Journals. Parents love them because they’re full of useful information like Kitchen Safety Rules, Culinary Definitions and even an Etiquette diagram showing the proper way to set the dinner table. Which means kids are continually learning while having lots of fun creating food memories!

There are 15 recipes covers-so kids change choose their favorites. Since they're all under $10 they can pick more that one! (available on Amazon)

Cooking Tips:

#1

Plan your menu around your grocer's weekly sales ad. Your ingredients will be in stock, in season, and on sale!

#2

Shop, Cook & Eat Seasonally. In-season produce is fresh, inexpensive, and tasty!

#3

Cook Once & Eat Twice. Cook a double batch of dishes like soups, beans and chili-for those days you don't feel like cooking!
