Field Peas to Foie Gras: Southern Recipes with a French Accent - Demonstration and Book Signing

Join us in welcoming acclaimed chef, author, and restauranteur Jennifer Hill Booker back to the Cook's Warehouse kitchen to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her first cookbook, Field Peas to Foie Gras. She'll be demonstrating some of her favorite recipes from the book for us to taste, sharing stories, and answering questions. After the demonstration, she'll be sticking around for a book signing. Attendees can expect to taste the following:

Buttermilk Biscuits

Strawberry Preserves

Molasses with Whipped Butter

Hickory Smoked Chicken Croquettes, Southern Fried Corn, Tomato & Cucumber Salad

Peach Cobbler with Chantilly Creme

This commemorative edition reintroduces readers to Booker's unique fusion of Southern comfort and French sophistication, marking a decade since its original publication. Drawing from her Mississippi roots and classical training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, Booker masterfully blends traditional Southern dishes with refined French techniques. The cookbook features over 130 recipes, including family favorites like Tomato Okra Gravy, Collard Greens Salad and Apple Galette with Chantilly Creme, each accompanied by personal anecdotes and vivid photography that transport readers to her family's Charleston farm.

The 10th anniversary edition not only celebrates Booker's culinary journey but also her contributions to the food industry. As the executive chef and co-owner of Bauhaus Biergarten (Springdale, Arkansas), owner of Your Resident Gourmet, LLC, and the founder of the Southern Divas of the New South Dinner Series, Booker continues to influence contemporary Southern cuisine. Her accolades include serving as the President of Les Dames d’Escoffier International's Atlanta chapter and being a member of the James Beard Foundation Sustainability Council and graduate of their Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Change program.
